Our days at Pixelware are filled with little tasks here and there, maintaining servers, updating existing projects, etc. But when we create something entirely new we like to mention it here so people can see the exciting stuff we are doing.

  • Church CMS product developed

    Over the last few months Pixelware has been working with their partner CorData Inc. to develop a product that CorData Inc. can sell to their ministry clients (churches, homeschools, etc.). We took the existing CMS technology developed by Pixelware and add to it a host of features useful for churches. The feature list includes:

    • Page management and editing
    • Blogging
    • Podcasting
    • Donations
    • Member Management
    • Leadership Profiles
    • Media Management (for sermons, etc.)

  • Families First optimizes their Adopt-A-Family compaign

    

    Families First runs a program every Thanksgiving and December to let businesses and individuals adopt a family in need for the holidays. The process of matching the right donor to the right family is a paperwork nightmare. Pixelware with their partner Red Tusk Studios has implemented a custom web-based application to automate this process. Some of the features of this system are:

    • Email integration for administration of the family data, notification of new donors to Families First and notifications to donors to know pickup locations and times.
    • Ability to browse families to find the right family for the right donor
    • Batch adoption of families for large adoptions
    • Extendable for future years and the ability to add other holidays such as Easter.

  • Rebranding and Website Upgrade for Conrad Lyles

    

    Our partner Red Tusk Studios is rebranding their long time client Builders Resource Realty to become Conrad Lyles. While rebranding they have decided to upgrade the website to be more capable and have more impact.

    To help with this effort Pixelware provided services to greatly enhance the properly listing functionality and to provide advanced UI components.

    This site has taken all the features of Ames Realty Groups site we created and added things like:

    • Custom JavaScript scroll bars
    • Custom image carousal
    • Enhanced property searching

  • Email Newsletters are Looking Better

    

    Forrer and Associates needed a way to send out newsletters without having to worry about design and email client compatibility. They just wanted to focus on content.

    Pixelware Inc. and their partner Red Tusk Studios designed a solution that allows HTML emails to be constructed using a template created by a graphics designer with their content inserted. This allows them to send professional looking results with minimal fuss.

  • Forrer & Associates Automates their Website

    

    Forrer & Associates worked with our partner RedTusk Studios to develop another excellent website. Red Tusk Studios utilized Pixelware Inc. to automate portions of the website to deliver a lower maintenance cost. Some of the work we did includes:

    • Implementing a news page to automatically imports news from various feeds selected by Forrer and Associates so they always have relevant content on their website for their clients but without the maintenance costs.
    • Scripts to process contact forms for both clients and potential employees to lower the cost of processing that communication by ensuring all needed information is submitted up front.

  • McCurdy and Candler receives quick response

    For serveral years, with our partner Red Tusk Studios, we have maintained a legacy webpage for McCurdy & Candler website to list their foreclosures. They decided to switch the software they use to manage their foreclosures and needed a quick rewrite of this legacy script. Pixelware Inc. was able to respond to this urgent need and create a custom script that integrated with their new software.

  • Ames Realty Group Gets a New Website

    

    In conjunction with our partner Red Tusk Studios, Pixelware Inc. launched the Ames Realty Group website. In this project Pixelware Inc. provided programming services to assist the design work done by Red Tusk Studios.

    This website provided Ames Realty Group value by giving their clients and potential clients a place to search for houses without leading the customer away from Ames in the process. This was accomplished by having the FMLS data directly integrated with the website instead of sending the clients to another site. This also gave Ames Realty Group the following additional benefits:

    • Provide a customized search function
    • Limit the result only to houses in areas that Ames Realty Group specializes in
    • Ability to feature their properties
    • Collect information from potential customers
    • Provide additional information and picture beyond the normal FMLS limit
    • Advanced features such as saving favorites and showing the house on a map.

    Ames Realty Group customers can now browse houses on their own as many are wanting to do while still under the guiding knowledgeable wing of Ames.

  • Project Management App for Title Researchers

    

    J and J Title Co needed a system to manage the real estate titles they researched for clients. They had been using an Excel spreadsheet for a few years which had limitations. With our partner Premier Lifestyle, Pixelware Inc. built a custom system to manage the titles. This gave the client:

    • a system that allowed multiple users to work on at the same time.
    • a system the client could login and submit requests
    • automated emails to keep everybody in the loop
    • a single place to store documents for historical purposes.

  • Custom CMS launched for SS&G

    

    We launched, with our partner Red Tusk Studios, a custom content management system for the Ohio-based accounting/financial institutation SS&G. This system builds on our previous experiences with content management systems but pushes the envelope in terms of customization and scalability.

    This site gives the employees complete control of the website including navigation through an easy to use system. Content is easily editable through a WYSWIYG editor and security allows different employees to work on their section and for the pages to go through an approval process.

  • Document Manager for Local Engineering Firm

    

    Pixelware Inc., in conjunction with our partner CorData Inc., reimplemented a legacy .NET application we had been maintaining in Ruby on Rails to enhance the functionality and lower the cost of licensing.

    The saving in licensing cost (a reoccurring cost) was less than reimplementing the entire system using Open Source software.

    This system is currently handling over 10,000 AutoCAD drawings each with multiple revisions.

  • Company maintained swatches

    Our partner Red Tusk Studios had implemented a wonderful website for Five Star Restorations but the maintenance cost of maintaining some selections of fabric swatches on the website had become too much. Also Five Star Restorations was wanting to expand the number of swatches listed on the site and change them frequently.

    Pixelware Inc. was able to step in and implement a custom fabric swatch management script that allowed Five Star Restorations to maintain the swatches themselves. This saved them money and gave them more flexibility.

  • Dynamic Navigation for Schneider Wright

    Schneider Wright Inc. had some subtle navigation effects implemented by our partner Red Tusk Studios in Flash. Although the effects added that nice little something extra that made the website pop it also increased the maintenance cost significantly since each page had it’s own slightly different version of the effects depending on what part of the site you were viewing.

    Pixelware Inc. was able to step in and remove this maintenance cost while still maintaining the visual effects by using advanced JavaScript techniques to mimic the Flash effects while at the same time making changes easy, quick and cheap.

  • Real Estate Website

    

    We launched, with our partner Red Tusk Studios, a new website for Builders Resource Realty. This website features custom home listing from FMLS to allow the clients of Builders to browse home while still remaining on the Builders website.

    This ensures that the homes Builders is selling are featured and enhanced, that customers can interact with Builders easily and that the properties listed are restricted to only those properties that Builders specializes in.

  • United Forming website released

    

    United Forming has released their new content-managed website. Pixelware Inc., and their partner CorData Inc. implemented the functionality and design of the website.

    Designed to work with their Intranet, United Forming has the ability to feature products, post news, and post available jobs. United Forming clients are able to also login and communicate with UFI providing an easy place to keep all project data. By putting the content creation in the hands of UFI they are able to communicate directly with their clients through their website.

  • Financial Planning Management

    

    Ronald Blue and Company needed a way to collect and communicate efficiently with a large group of clients they acquired. Their normal setup would not work well for this large of a group.

  • Family Shelter CMS launched

    

    With our partner Red Tusk Studios we created a custom content management system for The Dwelling Place using our PHP-based content management framework. Since the framework was existing code Pixelware was able to turn out this project in record time. The system is easy to use with a WYSIWYG editor for editing content and the ability to create new pages, delete pages and manage the site navigation without any technical expertise.

    The content management system has allowed The Dwelling Place to update content quickly and cost effectively so they can spend more time on their mission and less time on technology.

  • Website to Help Sell New Lofts

    

    With our partner Red Tusk Studios, we launched a website to help Davis Associates sell a mill they have recently renovated and turned into lofts called Porterdale Mill Lofts.

    This content management system was particularly innovative for it interactive unit listing and for the way the data for the website is manipulated.

    Davis Associates had been maintaining the unit information in a Excel spreadsheet. This source contained all the data including price, availability, etc. They wanted to continue to maintain the data in that manor.

    Pixelware Inc. was able to build the content management system so that they could upload the Excel file directly (no need to convert to CSV or anything like that) and the website would be populated with the latest data.

    This allowed Porterdale Mill to have an up-to-date website and not change one thing about the way they do business.

  • Intranet to facilitate internal communication at United Forming

    Pixelware Inc., with their partner CorData Inc., has created a intranet for United Forming to help facilitate communicating inside the company. This intranet allows for official documents to be posted, news, company directory and a central starting portal to all the services at UFI.

  • System Integration at a Financial Institution

    RonBlue and Company had purchases a hosted subscription-based single-signon system for their customers. But their existing locally managed CRM (SalesLogix) didn’t integrate with this new system and the two shared a lot of the same data. Pixelware Inc., together with our partner Cordata, developed some custom glue code so data from the local CRM could be easily migrated to the new service reducing the maintenance cost of the new software significantly.

  • Accounting Firm Content Mangement System

    

    Pixelware Inc., with our partner Red Tusk Studios, has launched a new custom content management system for Warren Averret, an prestigious accounting firm in Birmingham, AL.

    The content management system allows Warren Averret staff to easily edit the website with a WYSIWYG editor, manage site navigation and ability to create and delete pages. This allows Warren Averret to communicate to their clients directly without going through a technology worker while still maintaining a professional looking, highly functional website.

    Palometa Club had a new site launched today by Pixelware Inc. and their partner Red Tusk Studios. On this website Pixelware Inc. provided the following functionality:

  • Web Services Integration

    National Christian Foundation had signed up to two different subscription-based software packages (Salesforce.com for CRM and Northstar for Accounting). There was a lot of data shared between the system but they didn’t talk to each other. Pixelware Inc., together with our partner CorData developed some glue code between the two systems to data in once system automatically migrates to the other.

  • Secure Communicate for Plastic Surgery

    

    Georgia Plastic Surgery needed a secure way to communicate with their clients and potential clients to protect their privacy and to ensure they are HIPPA complaint.

    Pixelware Inc. in conjunction with Red Tusk Studios created a custom communication system that allowed doctors and clients to communicate easily about their questions. Clients and doctors receive notifications in their email and are then directed to the website where the can communicate.

    Since it’s launch over 500 potential clients have submitted questions to the doctors at Georgia Plastic Surgery.

  • Document Management System

    

    With our partner CorData Inc., we developed a custom document management system to help United Forming Inc. manage their corporate document.

    Currently managing over 60,000 documents taking in 100-150 documents per-day. Prior to this system each of those documents had to be mailed to the corporate office meaning a significant savings in just shipping cost for United Forming. Not to mention the other business benefits of having all your documents available instantly throughout the company.
